Sometimes there is a popular painting you really want, and then you have no choice but to buy a print, but most of the time it supports the arts more to go and buy an unknown original. I myself have two prints of paintings in my house, and 7 originals (all oil on canvas).

Of course this was about photography, so unless you are buying one of the older pre-film styles of photography, you are only ever buying a print.</description>

		<description>I think too much emphasis is being put on prints and how good they are. People are forgetting the texture and vividness you get with real art on canvas. People think it costs the earth but there is so much cheap art out there. Sometimes you can spend more on a print than on an acrylic or oil painting!</description>
