I happen to think there's benefit to both formats. I enjoy the ease and flexibility of digital photography but prefer the quality of film. I've written some articles on high dynamic range, which is much more difficult with film, and on film vs digital in general. What I really want to try is 4x5 large-format film.

Yes, it will be nice. I myself will probably try to get a roll film back when I get my first large format camera. I can't see myself spending the cash on either the Fuji or the XPan (as much as I would like to), barring a big lottery win of course. ;)

The XPan is nice but now I want to try a medium format panoramic like the Fuji G617. Think about the print size with that!!

Ooh an XPan, I am jealous. This guy (Karl Schuler), on Photo.net posted a bunch of XPan shots over the last year or so; that were one of the driving forces that started me looking at film (even if I couldn't afford an XPan).
